About this track
Your roadmap from admin to developer
This roadmap bridges the gap between clicks and code. It assumes you already know your way around a Salesforce org and want to build the skills of a platform developer — Apex, SOQL, triggers, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and modern DevOps. Work the four sections in order and each one unlocks the next.
Platform Basics gets your local developer environment ready with VS Code and the Salesforce CLI, then explains the metadata model and the governor limits that shape every design decision. Apex is the heart of the track: language fundamentals, efficient SOQL and DML, a maintainable trigger handler pattern, and testing to 75% the right way.
The Lightning Web Components section teaches the modern UI framework — component anatomy, reactivity and events, and wiring components to Apex and the Lightning Data Service. Integrations & DevOps closes the loop with REST callouts, named credentials, Platform Events, scratch orgs, and continuous integration. By the end you can design, build, test, and ship real features and are ready for the Platform Developer I exam.
