Booking the exam
When your practice scores are consistently comfortable, it is time to book. Salesforce certification exams are scheduled through Webassessor (webassessor.com/salesforce). Create an account, search for "Salesforce Certified Administrator", and you will see the registration options. The exam fee is currently around US$200, plus a retake fee if needed, so a little preparation pays for itself.
You choose between two delivery modes. Onsite means sitting the exam at a testing centre, which some people find less stressful. Online proctored lets you take it from home with a webcam and a live proctor. Online has strict requirements: a quiet, private room, a clear desk, a working webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection. You run a system check in advance and must show your ID and pan the room on camera before starting, so read the rules ahead of time to avoid surprises.
Prepare the logistics deliberately. Book a time when you are naturally sharp, not the end of a long day. For online, close every other application, remove notes and phones from the room, and log in early. You get roughly 105 minutes for about 60 questions — pace yourself at under two minutes each, flag anything uncertain, and use the review screen to return to flagged items rather than agonising in the moment.
You will see your pass or fail result immediately on submission, along with a breakdown by section that is invaluable if you need to retake. On passing, your certification appears in your Trailblazer profile and you receive a digital badge you can share on LinkedIn.
After certifying, keep it current: Salesforce requires periodic, free maintenance modules on Trailhead to stay certified through each release. Congratulations in advance — completing this roadmap and earning the Administrator credential is a genuine, marketable milestone, and a strong launchpad into the Developer or Consultant tracks next.
